YOWA! Trillanes dares Duterte to resign immediately: Kung pagod na, tama na!

Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV dared President Rodrigo Duterte to step down immediately instead of making statements that he is tired and would want to resign next year to give way to a new president who would oversee the transition to the new constitution.

“Ngayon, kung gusto niya talaga mag-resign dahil pagod na daw siya, gawin niya lang agad na wala ng (sic) drama at kundisyon pa,” Trillanes said Tuesday (July 10) in a statement.

Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV dared President Rodrigo Duterte to step down immediately instead of making statements that he is tired and would want to resign next year to give way to a new president who would oversee the transition to the new constitution.”Ngayon, kung gusto niya talaga mag-resign dahil pagod na daw siya, gawin niya lang agad na wala ng (sic) drama at kundisyon pa,” Trillanes said Tuesday (July 10) in a statement.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte has instructed the consultative committee (ConCom) he formed to cut his term short and allow for the election of a new president for the transition period to the new constitution.

“I Instructed Consultative Committee to elect a transitional President. I am willing to cut my term to be co-terminus with start of transition period. Committee agreed. Its (sic) to remove all suspicions and I am tired. Ready to give it to sonebody (sic) else,” Roque said, quoting Duterte, in a tweet.

However, Trillanes said this statement only seeks to “fool”and “trap” senators to pursue charter change to “rape” the Constitution and postpone the 2019 polls.

“That is a trap! Huwag tayo magpapaloko ulit sa mga pangakong ganyan ni Duterte,” he said.

“Gaya ng kanyang pangako na paglinis daw ng bansa ng korapsyon, krimen at illegal drugs in three to six months at kundi niya magawa, siya daw ay magre-resign,” he continued.

During the two years he has been in office so far, Duterte has repeatedly expressed his intention to step down from his post under certain conditions. He is still in office and is set to deliver his third State of the Nation Address in two weeks.

Under the proposed new constitution drafted by the consultative committee formed by Duterte, all incumbent officials would remain in office under terms and conditions in the transition plan crafted by the Federal Transition Commission.

If ratified as it is now, Duterte would be heading the Federal Transition Commission which would “promulgate the necessary rules, regulations, orders, decrees, proclamations, and other issuances, do all acts to implement the same, and resolve all issues and disputes that may arise therefrom.”

Essentially, the commission would have powers similar to a law-making body and can also enforce the rules it crafts and judge conflicts which may arise from these.
